Welcome to Roosters Wrestling Club, an official USA Wrestling Club & Team. We are dedicated to providing top-notch wrestling instruction and fostering a passion for competition among prep and youth athletes in the greater Metro King County area and Puget Sound region.
Overview
PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
Year-Round Training: Our club operates year-round, ensuring that athletes have consistent access to training and development opportunities.
Competition Focus: We emphasize competition and provide opportunities for wrestlers to test their skills in local, regional, and national tournaments.
Joint Practices: Athletes benefit from joint practices held four days a week, where they train alongside peers from various high school and youth programs across the Puget Sound area.
Experienced Coaching Staff: Led by experienced high-level coaches who are former or currently active competitors. Our staff is dedicated to helping athletes reach their full potential and excell both on and off the mat.

EXCLUSIVE TO PREP & YOUTH ATHLETES
The club is exclusive to prep & youth athletes only and is a competitively oriented amateur program with all members actively competing amongst their individual regional high school leagues and secondary programs. COACHING STAFF
Nick Simeti
A product of the esteemed wrestling traditions of New York and New Jersey. As a former four-year varsity starter at Plymouth State University, Coach Simeti excelled, securing top-eight finishes at the North East Regional Tournament for two consecutive years. With a passion for both wrestling and public health, Coach Simeti now leads the Bellevue High School wrestling program while making impactful contributions to epidemiology at the United States Veteran Affairs.
Four-year varsity starter for Plymouth State University NCAA Division III.
Placed top eight at 157lbs in North East Regional Tournament two consecutive years.
Achieved Academic All-American and All-NEWA honors in 2018.
Assistant wrestling coach at Plymouth State University from 2018 to 2022.
Currently serves as Head Wrestling Coach at Bellevue High School.
Jose Hernandez
A seasoned coach and decorated competitor in the world of wrestling and multiple combat sports. With a wrestling journey beginning at the age of 11, Jose boasts 7 years of competitive wrestling experience, including 2 years in Freestyle Wrestling. His accolades include being a 2-time regional MMA champion and a participant in the WIAA 4A State championship, achieving Top 10 finishes twice. As the recipient of the Fire Horse Award and a former team captain at Kentwood High School, Jose embodies leadership and excellence. Combining his passion for coaching, wrestling, and martial arts Jose has dedicated 9 years to coaching, serving as an assistant coach at Kentwood High School, coaching wrestling at ISMMA for 5 years, and leading as the Head Boys Coach at Bellevue High School for 2 years. Additionally, he has lent his expertise as a Freestyle Wrestling Coach for the Rooster Wrestling Club since it foundation in 2023. In recognition of his outstanding coaching prowess, Jose was named the 2024 WIAA Wrestling KingCo Coach of the Year.

Scott Taylor
Hailing from the wrestling-rich state of Nebraska, Coach Scott brings a wealth of knowledge in both technique and training into the Rooster Wrestling Club. As two time high school state placer and a four year varsity starter for the legendary Dana College Vikings, Coach Scott earned Academic All-American honors all four years and was a 2006 All-American in the same year his team boasted the NAIA National Team Championship. When not coaching, Coach Scott practices Dermatology as a Dermatology Physician Assistant and takes a keen interest in keeping all of his athletes healthy for competition.

Zak Taylor
Coach Zak Taylor competed in Pennsylvania’s PIAA wrestling division for six years before attending Penn State for undergrad. Zak finished his senior year season 33-5, competed in national tournaments in the off-season and now coaches wrestling at ISMMA & Rooster Wrestling Club. Zak’s wrestling style is greatly influenced by coaches who mentored him in southeast Pennsylvania, Naval Academy programs, and Penn State clinics. He focuses on teaching wrestlers to master the basics and improve chain-wrestling ability.
